BTS' Park Ji-min, more commonly known as Jimin, recently made headlines after undergoing emergency surgery for appendicitis and testing positive for COVID-19. Now fans are flooding the social media with messages wishing him a fast recovery.

Supporters of the South Korean boyband, collectively known as ARMY, have made the topics, "#WeLoveYouJimin" and "#GetWellSoonJimin," trend on Twitter since news about the 26-year-old singer and dancer's condition broke out.

"Hoping for a speedy & full recovery for Jimin. Thankful for Korea's amazing medical system and for this sweet young man's resilience and strength. #GetWellSoonJimin," one of them wrote.

Another fan tweeted a snapshot of a previous conversation with Jimin where the latter thanked fans for their loyal support. In the caption, they wrote, "Sending love to the boy who has the most love to give in the world."

Another fan tweeted, "Thinking of you lot, Jimin...praying for your strength, speedy recovery and good health. Take your time and heal our sweet angel fairy, looking forward to seeing you smile again. We miss you, #WeLoveYouJimin!"

BTS' music label Big Hit Music issued a statement Monday saying the K-pop star experienced sudden abdominal pain and mild sore throat on Sunday afternoon. He was reportedly taken to the hospital, where he was also diagnosed with COVID-19. The label then confirmed that Jimin underwent emergency surgery for appendicitis Monday morning.

"According to the medical staff, the surgery was successful and Jimin is currently recuperating after his procedure." Big Hit Music said. "He will be receiving a few days of in-patient treatment for COVID-19 in conjunction with postoperative care. He is currently experiencing a mild sore throat but is making a speedy recovery, and had no contact with the other members during the infectious stage."

The music label also clarified that Jimin did not come into close contact with any of his six bandmates during the infectious stage of the infection.

It is not the first time a member of BTS has caught the virus. Three other members of the group — RM, Jin and Suga — also tested positive for COVID-19 in December 2021, shortly after returning from the United States, where the boys had their first in-person shows ever since the pandemic struck.
