Another royal divorce has been confirmed ahead of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s move to Queen Elizabeth II’s residence.

Buckingham Palace announced that Lady Davina Windsor and Gary Lewis have decided to part ways after 14 years of marriage. “Lady Davina and Gary Lewis were divorced last year,” the palace stated.

The palace didn’t explain the reason behind the divorce. However, it has speculated that Lady Davina and Lewis’ different backgrounds could have been one of the causes for their split, Hello! reported.

Lady Davina and Lewis met during a trip to Bali in 2000 and got married at the private chapel in Kensington Palace in 2004. They share two kids: Senna Kowhai, 8, and Tane Mahuta, 6.

Lady Davina is the daughter of Queen Elizabeth II’s first cousin, the Duke of Gloucester, who is 30th in line to the throne. The now-exes resided in Auckland for some time during their marriage and lived a low-key lifestyle. However, they have appeared at the Trooping the Colour ceremony in the past. They were also present at the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s royal wedding in 2011.

Prince William and Prince Harry were often photographed with Lady Davina and her sister, Lady Rose Windsor, having fun together at Buckingham Palace when they were kids.

The announcement about Lady Davina and Lewis’ divorce was made ahead of Prince Harry and Markle’s move to Buckingham Palace. Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s two sons have decided to split their households reportedly due to their growing families.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be closer to Queen Elizabeth II as they will now be based in Buckingham Palace following their split from the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Prince William and Kate Middleton will remain in the Kensington Palace.

Kensington Palace will, however, continue to support Prince Harry and Markle until they have settled properly into their new office. There are rumors that Prince William, Middleton, Prince Harry and Markle’s separation might affect their charity, the Royal Foundation, because they will now have different communication officers.

In related news, last month, there were rumors that Prince Harry and Markle’s marriage was in trouble. The speculations started when Prince Harry was photographed looking "unhappy" when he and his wife stepped out together.

The couple reportedly had their first “out and out disagreement” due to Markle’s friends defending her from her critics in an American celebrity magazine, which the duke would have likely disapproved of if he had known about it ahead of time.
