Burger King is discontinuing the Ch'King sandwich from its menu this month despite an overwhelming response from fans for the chicken sandwich.

After just 15 months, the Ch'King will disappear from Burger King's menu and be replaced by a new line of in August, Chew Boom reported.

Burger King's Ch'King was its foray into the Chicken Sandwich Wars, which allowed the burger chain to compete against its fast-food rivals with its own chicken sandwich creation.

Launched in June 2021, the Ch'King was reported by Chew Boom too be labor-intensive to make, which may have led to its downfall. However, it was immediately unclear why Burger King was pulling the Ch'King sandwich from its menu.

Starting this month, Burger King will launch a new lineup of chicken sandwiches after being tested in New York City and Virginia in May. The new sandwich series features four variations -- Classic, Spicy, Bacon & Swiss Cheese, and Southern BBQ, The Takeout said.

The Classic BK Royal Crispy Chicken Sandwich will feature a crispy white meat chicken breast with a savory sauce, piled with lettuce and tomatoes on a toasted potato roll, while the BK Spicy Royal Crispy Chicken Sandwich will have triple pepper spicy glaze in addition to the ingredients featured on the Classic version of the sandwich, according to Chew Boom.

The BK Bacon & Swiss Cheese Royal Crispy Chicken Sandwich will also come with Swiss cheese and bacon, and the BK Southern BBQ Royal Crispy Chicken Sandwich will have a Southern-spiced BBQ sauce, bacon, caramelized onions, and cheese on a toasted potato roll, Chew Boom said.

A full nationwide rollout of the new Burger King chicken sandwiches is expected by the end of the month, Thrillest said.
