Camilla Parker Bowles missed Princess Eugenie's big day, so she can be with schoolchildren.

On Friday, while the royal family gathered together to celebrate Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank's royal wedding, the Duchess of Cornwall was missing. Clarence House already announced that Camilla won't make it due to a previous commitment.

Camilla visited Crathie Primary School and spent some time with the students. Aberdeenshire Council shared some photos of the duchess' visit on Twitter.

"We were delighted to welcome HRH Camilla Duchess of Rothesay to Crathie Primary today, where the pupils showed her their work toward getting a John Muir Award," the caption read.

During the said visit, Camilla was shown some surprising taxidermy. She also sat down for a morning tea at the Duke of Rothesay Highland Games Pavilion which was recently opened by her husband Prince Charles.

According to an insider Camilla intentionally skipped Princess Eugenie's wedding due to her rift with Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson. In fact, back in August, Camilla and Ferguson reportedly fought over Princess Diana during their stay in Balmoral. The tension was due to their different roles in the late Princess of Wales' life. Ferguson is one of Princess Diana's closest friends and Camilla her rival to Prince Charles.

A source alleged that Camilla is just having a party over the weekend. "The truth is that Camilla has a house party for a few friends," the source told The Telegraph. "They are arriving on Friday and will be there over the weekend. The date of the wedding was known eight months ago so it’s strange Camilla organised her house party this weekend."

However, another royal insider insisted that Camilla's absence was not meant to be a snub. The Duchess of Rothesay is reportedly "fond of Eugenie and her sister Beatrice, and is very disappointed that she cannot be there."

Another source also denied the rumors that there's ill-feeling among the senior royals. "They get on very well, the couple has no issue with it - they have known about the diary clash for some time," a source close to Prince Charles and Camilla said.

Another insider said that the Prince of Wales and Camilla usually "host events every day throughout this period every year." Thus, Camilla's appointment was scheduled before Princess Eugenie's royal wedding.
