Camilla Parker Bowles recently stepped out in public to attend a royal engagement in the United Kingdom.

Prince Charles’ wife was photographed wearing thick leather riding gloves at the indoor London community event, and she didn’t remove them throughout her entire outing. Camilla also shook hands with the other guests and staff while still wearing her gloves.

New Idea, speculated on the possibility that Camilla opted to wear thick gloves as protection against the deadly coronavirus or COVID-19. An onlooker also told the publication that no one else had gloves on except for the Duchess of Cornwall.

Camilla kept those damned gloves on the whole time. No one else in the whole place had gloves on, let alone ones that thick. It was really incongruous. She was shaking people’s hands with them on,” the royal fan said.

The insider went on to say that there was talk that Camilla was scared of getting COVID-19.

“To be fair, it must be unhygienic to have to shake so many people’s hands, but it just looked downright bizarre,” the source said.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the novel coronavirus can be spread through a number of ways. Person to person spread happens between people who are in close contact with one another within about six feet.

The virus may also spread via respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes. These droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby or possibly be inhaled into the lungs.

Meanwhile, Camilla’s husband also made headlines this week after a man with a crossbow and latex gloves was arrested at his London home. Police officers rushed to the heir to the throne’s property and discovered that the man had a number of other weapons in his possession.

Andrew Marshall, 44, was charged with two counts of possession of weapons in a public place. However, he has already posted bail. On March 19, Marshall will appear at the Southwark Crown Court.

According to Express, there have been some security concerns over Prince Charles’ constant updates on social media. His communications staff shares the photos and schedule of the future king to the public, which could pose threats in the future.

This week, Prince Charles met up with Emma Willis, the founder of the charity Style for Soldiers. The organization provides transitional clothes for injured servicemen and women.
