Now a new rumored smartphone known as HTC Eternity has surfaced, boasting mammoth specifications to claim the crown of the biggest smartphone in the market.

Here's a comparison of HTC Eternity with top smartphones in the market:

The HTC Eternity boasts of a dimension of 130.6 x 70.6 x 9.9 mm and weighs 170 g which is bigger than dimension of Samsung Galaxy S2’s 125.3 x 66.1 x 8.5 mm weighing at 116 g, Motorola Photon’s 126.9 x 66.9 x 12.2 mm weighing at 158 g and Droid Bionic’s 125.9 x 66.9 x 13.3 mm weighing at 158 g. Droid Bionic may feature a bigger dimension as it is undergoing modifications to fit bigger display screen. Meanwhile HTC Eternity is still smaller than Samsung Infuse 4G’s 132 x 71 x 9 mm dimension but the phone weighs 139 g. The Dell streak which is also claimed to be a tablet come smartphone has a dimension of 152.9 x 79.1 x 10 mm and weighs at 220 g.

Dell Streak may be the only tablet smartphone to out match HTC Eternity as Dell’s device comes with 5-inch display screen compared to HTC Eternity’s 4.7-inch SC-LCD capacitive touchscreen display. Next biggest screen is possessed by Samsung Infuse 4G which has 4.5-inch display while both Motorola’s phones along with Galaxy S2 possess 4.3-inch display. The Motorola Droid Bionic upgraded specifications show it featuring a 4.5-inch screen. Dell Streak along with Motorola phones feature TFT capacitive touchscreen while Samsung phones come with Super AMOLED Plus capacitive touchscreen display.

Most of the latest smartphones of HTC has 1 GB RAM, but Eternity with exception may only feature 512 MB RAM which puts it in the category of Infuse 4G and Dell Streak. The earlier specifications of Droid Bionic showed that it had 512 MB RAM as well, but upgrade may help it to achieve 1 GB RAM. Most of the smartphones feature a 16 GB internal memory but some may have 32 GB support depending on the model. All of them feature microSD support up to 32 GB but HTC Eternity may not feature a microSD support.

Except for Dell Streak which features 5-megapixel camera, rest of the other phones have 8-megapixel camera. Motorola phones feature dual-LED flash while others have LED flash support. Like most of the smartphones the Eternity has 720p video capture support. Moreover smartphones like Samsung Galaxy S2, HTC Sensation 4G, HTC EVO 3D and myTouch Slide 4G features 1080p video capture capability.

In terms of processor HTC’s Eternity may be the fastest with 1.5 GHz processor Qualcomm MSM8255 chipset but it’s a single core processor. Moreover the upcoming Google Nexus 4G is expected to feature next-generation dual core 1.2 GHz or a 1.5GHz CPU processor. In fact, earlier Samsung Galaxy S2's dual-core processor overclocked at a whopping 1.504 GHz which includes T-Mobile G2x a.k.a. LG Optimus 2x in the list. The Dell Streak and Samsung Infuse are other phones with single core processors. While most of the smartphones feature dual-core processors clocking in between 1 GHz to 1.2 GHz.

The battery featured in HTC Eternity is Li-Ion 1650 mAh, which again is bettered by most of the smartphones in market as there are phones featuring battery capacities ranging in between 1700 mAh to 1930 mAh.

The Eternity smartphone doesn’t seem to have enough features to outmatch the other major present and upcoming smartphones. Hence the major attractions in HTC Eternity is expected to be the 4.7-inch display screen, as it will be first smartphone to feature it -- and German site HTCInside has claimed that the HTC smartphone could be the company's first to come with the latest version of Microsoft Windows Phone 7, codenamed Mango.

In May Microsoft had informed about Window phone software update which is expected to bring 500 new features with the inclusion of Internet Explorer 9, Twitter and LinkedIn feeds integrated into contact cards, automated Facebook check-ins and bringing access to more than 17,000 downloadable applications. The update to the Windows Phone operating system may put Microsoft in race with Google and Apple OS. Moreover some sources point that Eternity may be released in September along with Windows Phone 7 OS.
