As the cruise industry begins to pick up speed, deals for sailings are also ramping up, with the most recent coming from Royal Caribbean (RCL) and Carnival Cruise Line (CCL).

Both cruise lines are offering significant savings for families that book a cruise with their kids.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recently updated cruise ship travel to its Level 2 “moderate” risk travel risk category after previously being listed as “very high” risk for contracting COVID-19.

Cruise ships were previously seen as superspreaders for COVID-19 amid the height of the COVID pandemic and suspended their operations for months to prevent the spread of the virus. Now that the CDC has allowed cruise travel to resume, cruise lines are looking to recoup passengers by offering mega deals to attract guests onboard their ships.

Royal Caribbean’s latest sale runs from Thursday to Monday, where every guest will receive 30% off their booking up to $550 on cruises that depart April 22, 2022 or later.

Big savings come for families with children as they can cruise for free, which is offered on sailings three nights or longer, departing June 1, 2022 through April 30, 2023, Cruise Fever reported.

Other deals offered in the sale from Royal Caribbean include an exclusive bonus of up to $50 in onboard credits for Crown & Anchor Society members and another $100 bonus in onboard credits to redeem as Future Cruise Credits.

Guests will also receive free upgrades on select Oasis of the Seas, Anthem of the Seas, and Navigator of the Seas cruises in 2022.

Carnival Cruise Line is also offering a cruise deal for kids, with a booking for an interior room a child can sail for just $1 through its 72-hour sale running through Wednesday at 11:59 p.m. with the rate code P3P.

The cruise line is also offering cruises starting at $169 per person and up to 40% off bookings made on select sailing through September 2022.

As of Wednesday at 11:28 a.m. ET, shares of Royal Caribbean were trading at $75.65, down $1.25, or 1.62%, while shares of Carnival were trading at $18:53, down 40 cents, or 2.10% at the same time.
