“Castle” will be picking up exactly where it left off for the Season 7 premiere on Sept. 29. The ABC drama's Season 6 finale concluded with Beckett standing over the fiery wreck of Castle’s car after he was run off the road on the way to their wedding. Fans have been on the edge of their seats since and, according to the synopsis for the first episode, the show will waste no time getting right to the action.

The premiere episode, titled “Driven,” will return right to the scene of the crime with Beckett still in her wedding dress. What follows is described by the synopsis as the toughest case of her career. With showrunner David Amann promising that the first episode would deliver more than a few answers to viewers wondering who was responsible for the attack, it would be safe to assume that Beckett will be hunting down her groom’s assailant. With Castle likely in bad shape after the attack (assuming he isn’t dead), Beckett might be on her own for this one.

The premiere episode, which was written by Amann, will also feature a variety of guest stars -- including Maya Stojan ("Elwood"), Ryan Sands ("Step Up"), Jon Lindstrom ("Rituals"), Don Stark ("That 70's Show") and Matt Letscher ("The Carrie Diaries").

Will Beckett find the person responsible for the attack on her fiancé? And what kind of toll will the surely traumatic case take on her? Plus, fans are dying to know what this means for the long-awaited wedding between Castle and Beckett. Apparently, the wedding is still on ... eventually. Viewers will have to tune in to Season 7 to find out how long it will take for the two to tie the knot.

“Castle” returns for its seventh season on Monday, Sept. 29, at 10 p.m. EDT on ABC. Who do you think attacked Castle? Tweet your thoughts to @Ja9GarofaloTV.
