‘Big Brother’
Which celebrities will Julie Chen welcome to the Big Brother house this winter? CBS

“Big Brother” fans will not miss the hit CBS reality TV competition because host Julie Chen will be back this winter with a slew of new houseguests.

But instead of casting newbies, vets and super fans, the people behind “Big Brother” has decided to open the doors of the famous house to celebrities. For the first in the history of “Big Brother” in the United States, a group of celebrities will be invited to live together for a couple of weeks.

Julie Chen spoke with The Hollywood Reporter to say that the celebrity edition will be more intense than the usual summer run. “It’s going to be more intense than what you’re used to seeing because it’s going to be concentrated. Picture everything about ‘Big Brother,’ but nonstop action because it’s going to be on fast-forward button,” she said.

According to TV Line, the new season will feature multiple episodes per week, and the houseguests will also be participating in Head of Household (HOH) and Power of Veto (POV) competitions. Every week, there will also be a nomination ceremony and an eviction.

As of late, the producers of “Big Brother” are already receiving countless calls from celebrities and their agents who have shown interest to star in the series. According to Chen, at least one member of NSYNC is trying to get cast in “Big Brother.”

“I just came from a ‘Big Brother’ meeting and they didn’t give me any names. They just said they’re getting tons of calls from agents and are starting to take meetings. And I saw that Anthony Scaramucci is following some of the ‘Big Brother’ houseguests and executive producer Allison Grodner on social media. Maybe he’s doing research, I don’t know,” she said.

Unfortunately, casting and other updates about the upcoming celebrity edition are still being kept under wraps. But since it will premiere in the winter, end of November or early December could be a perfect schedule for the show.

Meanwhile, Josh Martinez won the $500,000 grand prize after his three-month stint in “Big Brother” Season 19. He also bested returning vet Paul Abrahamian. The latter was accused of bullying the houseguests and was called a racist. On his Instagram account, Paul addressed the issues that were thrown at him.
