Celine Dion has already cleared the air about her shocking weight loss that caused so many fans to worry for the world-renowned singer’s health. Rumors swirled early this year that the “My Heart Will Go On” songstress was battling an eating disorder. But where did the rumors come from?

The rumors apparently started when the Canadian singer showed up at several fashion events in January. When she attended Alexandre Vauthier’s fashion show in Paris on Jan. 22, 2019, she looked like she had lost a considerable amount of weight.

The day after, Dion was among the crowd at Ronald van der Kemp’s fashion show in the City of Lights. She was spotted attending the event with her close friend and backup dancer Pepe Muñoz. At the time, Celine looked frail and slimmer than her usual self.

Many of Dion’s fans expressed their concern for her on social media, saying that she’s gotten too “skinny” and “weak.” Others have begun to speculate whether she hasn’t been eating because of anorexia. However, many netizens also slammed the diva for not taking care of her body.

News outlet Vaaju.com also ran a story on Dion’s dramatic weight loss. According to the site’s report, Celine no longer looks healthy because she’s obviously underweight. Compared to her 2015 figure, the Grammy-winning artist’s body has extremely changed. The outlet also attributed Dion’s weight loss to the death of her husband René Angélil on Jan. 14, 2016 and her brother Daniel’s passing two days later.

In late January, the “Ashes” hitmaker broke her silence during an interview for “The Dan Wootton Interview” podcast saying, “I want to feel strong, beautiful, feminine and sexy. If I like it, I don’t want to talk about it. … If you like it, I’ll be there. If you don’t, leave me alone.”

Despite Celine‘s brave statement, the body-shaming and eating disorder rumors never went away. This week, the singer finally shut down the anorexia speculations when she sat down for an interview with “Good Morning America.” The 51-year-old recording artist admitted that she’s “a little thinner” than before, but she said that it’s all because of her newfound passion for dancing.

Dion is so into ballet lately that she even practices her ballet routine four times a week with the help of Muñoz. She also insisted that her fans should not at all worry for her because “everything’s fine, nothing’s wrong.”
