  • Pulisic's injury history is forcing Blues to come up with a better workload
  • Pulisic will eventually find the right resistance level to keep him on the field
  • Blues are not giving up on Pulisic

There is no doubt that Christian Pulisic is a talented player that has a bright future in football. However, his run has been hampered by constant injuries, forcing him to miss games.

Though Frank Lampard considers him a vital part of the Blues, his ability to stay healthy has raised concerns.

Looking at the injury history of Pulisic courtesy of NBC Sports, most of them are not minor but similar. He has missed a total of 22 games for Chelsea FC since arriving in 2019.

This has become entirely frustrating for Pulisic and the Blues. His ability to rise and help Chelsea can be seen in the time he has been with the Blues.

But along with that comes multiple injuries since arriving from Borussia Dortmund, that last of which was a freak mishap that happened during warm-ups.

As mentioned in a previous post, Pulisic ended up limping warming up against Burnley. He was visibly frustrated and most feared he had suffered another hamstring injury. That turned out to be spot on with the 22-year-old sidelined once more.

Looking ahead, it raises serious questions on the future of the USMNT star. But according to his former head coach Gregg Berhalter, Pulisic is in good hands with the Blues.

At some point, he will get to that resistance level that will see him play longer in the field, NBC Sports reported.

“I believe he will get to this level of resistance where he stays fit. But building that up sometimes is challenging. That could be a phase he is in right now. I know they could use him," he said.

"I know he’s a fantastic player and it is great to see what he’s been doing, but he’s in good hands with the club and they are doing everything they can to get him on the field.”

Lampard also responded to the injury concerns surrounding Pulisic. He revealed that they are resorting to managing his workload, taking into serious consideration his injury history.

“Some players that do play on the edge and have such speed in their game and acceleration, maybe that could be more susceptible. I don’t think that’s a one-size-fits-all answer, because it is different for everybody," Lampard stated.

"From last season, we were looking at ways of managing Christian and being proactive and hopefully not getting too many injuries."
