NCIS
“NCIS” on CBS is just one of the many shows which will not air Tuesday night due to the U.S. presidential election. CBS

With wall-to-wall election coverage beginning later this evening, many of your favorite Tuesday night primetime shows will not be airing on Nov. 8. ABC’s two-hour block of sitcoms, which typically begins at 8:00 p.m. EST and runs until 10:00 p.m. EST, will not air. This means fans of “The Middle,” “Fresh Off the Boat” and “American Housewife” will have to wait until next week.

ABC will also not air “Agents of SHIELD,” which won’t make a return to TV until the later this month. Due to the election, Thanksgiving and most likely the “Dancing With the Stars” finale, the series won’t return until Nov. 29.

Over on NBC, both of the network’s hour-long shows – “This Is Us” and “Chicago Fire” – will not be airing Tuesday. The series will return on Nov. 15 at their regularly scheduled times. On CBS, “Bull,” which hasn’t aired since Oct. 25, will return next week as well. Both “NCIS” series, “NCIS” and “NCIS: New Orleans,” will also not air tonight but will return on Nov. 15.

As for Fox, three of its shows which typically premiere on Tuesdays – “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” “New Girl” and “Scream Queens” – will all be off the air. Due to 2016 MLB World Series, all three shows have not aired new episodes since Oct. 18, so their return will surely be welcomed by fans.
