There is no shortage of intriguing matchups in Week 2 of the 2018 college football season. While there are just two games featuring Top 25 games, No. 2 Clemson traveling to College Station to face unranked Texas A&M has the feel of a potential upset.

No. 2 Clemson at Texas A&M

Should Clemson be worried about playing at Kyle Field? When the Aggies hosted Alabama in 2017, they lost by one score, 27-19. Clemson's Dabo Swinney is well aware that Jimbo Fisher would love a huge win to truly get his career at College Station off to a strong start.

Both the Tigers and Aggies rolled over weak opponents in Week 1. Clemson trounced Furman 48-7, while Texas A&M pounded Northwestern State 59-7.

Expect a tight game, as the Aggies defense and special teams should be ready to step up. Running back Trayveon Williams will get plenty of carries, though he won't come close to the 240 yards he got in the season opener.

The Tigers will ultimately prevail, but it will likely be harder than they had anticipated. Clemson will play it safe, relying on clever rushing plays to earn first downs. Expect the Tigers to play a smart fourth quarter on both sides of the ball. Texas A&M will walk away with a moral victory, knowing they made the No. 2 team in the nation fight hard for a close win.

Betting Odds: Clemson by 12 points; over/under is 52.5 points

Prediction: Clemson wins, 28-20

No. 3 Georgia at No. 24 South Carolina

Is this finally Georgia's year? Kirby Smart's Bulldogs get their first real test when they visit the South Carolina Gamecocks.

Both schools had tune-up games in Week 1, resulting in predictable lopsided scores. The big takeaway for Georgia is that they have some excellent receivers, like Mecole Hardman and D'Andre Swift.

While Georgia is loaded with talent, this is not a roster that has a lot of experience. South Carolina is usually strong at home and will be looking to make up for three straight losses to the Bulldogs.

The key matchup is Georgia's offensive line against South Carolina's defensive line. Defensive end D.J. Wonnum led the Gamecocks in sacks in 2017 and is expected to play but may not be at full strength due to an ankle injury. South Carolina needs someone else to step up to apply pressure on Bulldogs quarterback Jake Fromm.

The crowd at Williams-Brice Stadium will be energized and the noise may get to Georgia's young players. Expect South Carolina to make things interesting, though it probably won't be enough. Georgia is simply too talented and hungry.

Betting Odds: Georgia by 10 points; over/under is 56 points

Prediction: Georgia over South Carolina, 30-27

No. 17 USC at No. 10 Stanford

This has become one of the best rivalries in the Pac-12. Once again there are plenty of storylines.

Much of the focus will be on USC's true freshman quarterback J.T. Daniels and Stanford's Heisman Trophy candidate Bryce Love. Daniels will need to show poise in the pocket and avoid risky passes, while Love needs a better performance than his uninspired effort against San Diego State.

USC's offensive line had some struggles in the season opener, and will face a big challenge from a Stanford defense that often gives them trouble. Should the Cardinal apply strong pressure on Daniels and the Trojan running game, this game could quickly become very frustrating for Clay Helton's squad.

Don't be surprised if this is another tactical game. Stanford will likely take advantage of USC mistakes and dominate the clock to come away with the home win.

Betting Odds: Stanford by 6 points; over/under is 55.5 points

Prediction: Stanford wins, 33-24
