President Donald Trump criticized former President George W. Bush over a video he released calling for unity among Americans amid the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.

In December, the House voted to impeach Trump over his dealings with Ukraine, while the Senate voted to acquit the President in early February. Trump is apparently angry that Bush did not speak up in his defense during that time.

The video, released by the George W. Bush Presidential Center on Saturday, calls for Americans to come together amid the coronavirus crisis.

"In the final analysis, we are not partisan combatants," Bush said. "We are human beings, equally vulnerable and equally wonderful in the sight of God. We rise or fall together, and we are determined to rise."

Trump has frequently criticized Bush and his family. During the 2015-2016 Republican primaries, Trump accused Bush of not keeping the U.S. safe due to the 9/11 terror attacks. Trump also frequently attacked then-Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush, frequently calling him “low energy” and claiming he was bought out by “special interests.”

Barbara Bush, the mother of George W. Bush and Jeb Bush, called Trump a “showman” in a 2016 interview. In 2017, George W. Bush said Trump “doesn’t know what it means to be President.”

Trump has previously said he would not speak to former presidents to ask for advice during the coronavirus outbreak. In early April, Trump spoke to former Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden about the pandemic.
