Mercy Sister Ship, USNS Comfort Arrives At NY Harbor To Help Fight COVID-19

Navy hospital ship USNS Comfort sailed for the east coast on Monday, March 3, and is carrying 1,000 beds, 12 operating rooms, a medical laboratory and more. Also on board were 1,200 doctors, nurses, anesthesiologists, x-ray technicians, orderlies and other medical staff. Like its sister ship, the USNS Mercy which sailed west to Los Angeles to serve as a referral hospital for non-COVID-19 patients, the Comfort would relieve shore-based hospitals of the overwhelming amount of patients.
