Texas country singer, Taylor Dee's demise came as a shock to the music industry. The 33-year-old songstress died at the age of 33 in a car crash on March 14.

The rising star's SUV slammed into a barrier on State Highway 183 around 10:30 p.m. after she missed a turn to exit the highway.

Her car reportedly rolled and hit the overhead sign, which ejected the singer from the SUV. Euless City Police Department revealed that Dee wasn't wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.

Linda Wilson, president of the Texas Country Music Association revealed the tragic news to KURL8 saying, “Taylor Dee was the real deal – a true talent with a heart and passion not only for her music but for people. In every performance, her talent was evident, but more importantly, she allowed her fans to know her heart. She will be missed tremendously.”

Dee wasn't the only person in the SUV at the time of the crash. She was accompanied by someone else, whose identity has not been disclosed yet but according to CBS Local, they also suffered minor injuries.

Currently, the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office is trying to determine through a toxicology screen test if alcohol was the reason behind this accident.

According to Dee's official website, she "grew up in a broken home" with her brother Chad, and her mother.

"Things were very hard for her as a child amongst all of the fighting between her parents, and her family being very poor…Taylor turned to music for healing. It became her safe place," Dee wrote on her website earlier. "She was very quiet and shy as a kid and just kept to herself journaling, writing poetry, and listening to all of her favorite artists."

Dee joined her first band, "Chasing Highways" in 2005 after graduating high school. She also auditioned for "American Idol" in 2009 and "The Voice" in 2015.

Earlier this month, the late singer posted a cover photo of her upcoming single, “Why Would I,” with a “COMING SOON” animated title.

"New music alert! Acoustic EP dropping soon!!!! Who’s ready?!" she captioned. Fans expressed shock and sadness over the singer's death news.

One of the fans wrote, "So talented! May you be singing with Gods Angels now and He has you in his arms. Sending love and prayers to the family and friends."

The singer is survived by two children. A campaign on GoFundMe has been launched to raise money for the funeral expenses of the late singer.
