Game developer Summer Game Fest announced on Jun 22 “Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time.” The announcement of the much-awaited AAA game happened a couple of decades after the studio released the mutated bandicoot. While fans already saw the gameplay of the upcoming title, it looks like it would be released with one of the most requested modes, multiplayer.

The latest information about the rumored mode of “Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time” came from the official PlayStation Store page. The unconfirmed detail claim that the upcoming title would feature offline multiplayer for 2 to 4 players. It could be referring to a local co-op or a separate offline multiplayer mode.

Considering that there would be multiple characters playable in “Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time,” whispers about a multiplayer mode is not impossible. It is worth mentioning that the previous “Crash” game is only a single-player experience. While it is passable to share the controller back and forth with a friend, in terms of old-school co-op experience, there was no formal multiplayer mode for it. Earlier, Toys for Bod gaming studio confirmed that players could choose between Coco and Crash while playing “Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time,” it only covers a couple of players.

The “Crash” franchise has a lot of multiplayer mode experiences. This includes “Crash Bash” and “Crash Team Racing.” There is a high likelihood that a multiplayer mode could be on the upcoming “Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time.” However, it is worth mentioning that this information is not yet officially confirmed.

In this case, it is smarter to take this information with a good measure of salt. A few days ago, the gaming industry learned about “Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time” through a Taiwanese Rating Board. Meanwhile, the upcoming title would be released on current generation gaming consoles’ PS4 and Xbox One on Oct 2, 2020.

PC, Nintendo Switch, and even next generation gamers would have to wait much longer on the possibility of the release of “Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time.” Recently, Activision said that it is evaluating the likelihood of launching the title on other platforms.
