The “Dance Moms” family is about to get a little bigger! Kira Girard announced on Tuesday that she is with child. The reality star's forthcoming arrival was reconfirmed by Lifetime in the promo video for Season 5, episode 29 of the series. The reveal followed Kira and her daughter Kalani Hilliker's return to the show following the premiere of Tuesday’s installment.

Kira announced she was expecting by posting a photo of herself caressing her baby bump on Instagram. The dance mom also shared the child’s gender and revealed she is due in the fall. “I can’t believe in just 3 short [months] this lil boy will be joining us in this world!” she captioned the image. “We are so excited to meet our lil guy.” Kira concluded her post with the hashtags “#safezonefinally #itsaboy #6.5months.”

The dance moms star’s post came just hours before Lifetime released the preview for episode 29 of the competition docuseries. In the short teaser Kira reveals to her fellow ALDC (Abby Lee Dance Company) dance moms that she’s expecting.

“Since we have all the adults here I want to tell you guys first: I am pregnant,” Kira says in the trailer. While Kira’s news results in a smile from her daughter’s coach, Abby Lee Miller, Kira says her pregnancy wasn’t without a few complications. “The whole reason I didn’t say anything was because I had a lot of complications," she says.

And according to the rest of the installment’s promo video, her decision to keep her baby news a secret for so long was with good reason. Melissa Gisoni reveals later in the teaser that Kira is in the hospital after failing to make an appearance at the weekly competition.

“I’m worried about her to be honest with you,” Melissa says.

“We don’t want to freak Kalani out,” Jill Vertes adds.

Kira has two children from a previous relationship, Kalani, 14, and son Jax, 7. Kira’s pregnancy news comes one month after she accepted her boyfriend David Newman’s proposal. David, a real estate professional, proposed to Kira on set during the “Dance Moms” Season 5 reunion taping in Los Angeles on June 2. Kira showed off her engagement ring on Instagram several days later.

While its unknown if his proposal will make it to air, the episode is scheduled to premiere on Lifetime Tuesday, Aug. 18. In the meantime, fans can catch new episodes of “Dance Moms” Tuesdays at 9 p.m. EDT on Lifetime.
