Mark Ballas might not be shimmying across the dance floor for Week 2 of “Dancing With the Stars.” The professional ballroom dancer, who’s paired with UFC fighter Paige VanZant for Season 22 of the ABC series, reportedly suffered an injury and could be sitting on the sidelines during Monday's episode.

According to People magazine, Mark hurt his back on Sunday during a camera blocking rehearsal. “It’s an old injury that he aggravated,” a source explained. “It’s up in the air if he’ll be able to perform tonight.”

Whether the 29-year-old dancer can perform on Monday’s show will be determined by a doctor, the outlet reports, but in the meantime Paige has been rehearsing with “Dancing With the Stars” troupe member Alan Bersten.

Mark hasn’t addressed his injury on social media, but his partner did post a message on Instagram asking for “extra votes.”

“Today is a wild one,” she wrote. “Keep up on snapchat as things happen. We’re going to need some extra votes today. Calling my #fanzants again tonight.”

As previously reported, Week 2’s theme is “Latin Night” and the contestants will perform either the samba, salsa, tango, rumba, cha-cha or paso doble. Paige and Mark (or Alan, if Mark has to step away) will be dancing the salsa to Don Omar’s “Danza Kuduro.”

According to E! News, before Mark’s injury he helped Paige celebrate her 22nd birthday in Hollywood with other “Dancing With the Stars” contestants and pros including Kim Fields, Keo Motsepe and Emma Slater.

Monday’s show will be the first time a couple will be eliminated on Season 22.

“Dancing With the Stars” airs Monday at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC.
