Kristen Bell has no plans on giving up on Dax Shepard or their marriage after the actor admitted he relapsed after 16 years of sobriety.

The 40-year-old, who shares two children with her husband, opened up about her marriage and Shepard’s relapse during the Wednesday episode of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”

Following a motorcycle accident in August, Shepard was placed on painkillers after breaking four of his ribs. However, when he realized that he was beginning to take more than the doctor’s recommended dosage, he eventually came clean to his wife.

During Bell’s appearance on the daytime show, the “Frozen 2” star revealed her feelings for Shepard have not changed, and she will continue to remain by his side.

“One of the main reasons I love him is he’s also addicted to growth. He’s addicted to evolving,” she explained.

“And he was like, ‘I don’t want to risk this family, and I did, so let’s put new things in place to make sure it doesn’t happen again.’ We’re going back to therapy. I love that he’s addicted to growth, and I will continue to stand by him because he’s very, very worth it.”

Bell revealed that Shepard was adamant about not allowing his addiction to destroy their family. “The thing I love most about Dax is A) that he was able to tell me and tell us and say we need a different plan. Right?” she said.

“Like we have a plan. If he has to take medication, for any reason, I have to administer it. But he was like, ‘So, we need a stronger plan. I was faltering, and I have to do some sort of emotional work to figure out why I wanted to use again.’”

Bell went on to reveal Shepard is “doing really great” since confessing about his relapse, and the couple is working on their new plan.
