She learned she was pregnant and has feared learning who the baby’s father actually is. Now, Abigail’s fears could become reality as she anxiously awaits the results of a secret paternity test on the Thursday, July 12 episode of “Days of Our Lives.”

After her return to Salem, Abigail (Marci Miller) was stunned to learn she was pregnant and became horrified when she realized Chad (Billy Flynn) may not be the father on the NBC soap. She remembered sleeping with Stefan (Tyler Christopher) while her “Gabby” alter was in control and knew that it could mean she was actually carrying his child, and not her husband’s. She has thus far kept the news of her pregnancy a secret from her husband, opting to wait until she knows if she has good news to tell him.

She did confide the truth in Gabi (Camila Banus), and the two women worked together to get samples from both men so Abigail could conduct a secret paternity test. She had secured a fork that Chad used during a lunch out together, while Gabi snuck into DiMera Mansion and grabbed Stefan’s toothbrush. However, the mission wasn’t quite as covert as the women hoped, and Stefan became suspicious, following the two women to the park and demanding to see what Gabi gave her friend. The women seemed to pass it off as one of Thomas’ toys, and after a tense conversation about their time together when her alter was in control, Abigail headed off to get the DNA tests done.

Now, she is left anxious, awaiting the results and hoping she will get the news she desperately wants and needs to hear. Another baby with Chad would be a dream come true for her and would be exactly what the couple needs to get everything back on track in their lives.

However, if the test results come back and she learns the baby is, in fact, Stefan’s, it will be her worst nightmare. Not only would she have to find some way to keep Stefan from ever figuring out the truth, but she would need to decide if she wants to keep the baby at all and risk raising a child that was half him. Until she knows what the tests confirm though, she will have nothing she can do, except wait.

“Days of Our Lives” airs weekdays on NBC.
