They have both been out of Salem for a while, though they did meet up again outside of the town’s limits. Now, after both heading back to town, Rex and Mimi will have an unexpected reunion on the Thursday, Oct. 25 episode of “Days of Our Lives.”

Mimi (Farah Fath) first returned to Salem on the NBC soap after her mother, Bonnie (Judi Evans) used her daughter to get out of jail, by claiming the baby was conceived by her one-night stand with a then drunk Lucas (Bryan Dattilo). Following Lucas’ decision to file for custody, Mimi has been desperate to get her baby back but hasn’t had any luck since Bonnie has threatened to expose that she was the one who really killed her father decades earlier.

As the case proceeded, Mimi then went to Belle (Martha Madison), begging her to defend Bonnie and admitting that the baby was hers. She also then went on to admit that Rex (Kyle Lowder) was the man who fathered the baby, after they ran into one another at a private poker game, drank, and slept together. She also admitted that Rex doesn’t know he’s a father, and though she knew it would pit her against Chloe (Madia Bjorlin), Belle agreed to take on the case so Mimi could get her miracle baby back.

Since then, however, Rex has also arrived back in town, something Mimi is unaware of. He came back to reveal to his father, Roman (Josh Charles), that he is engaged and preparing to marry a doctor he met while doing his medical residency in Chicago, and he’s excited about the turn his life has taken. He even met the baby he believes is his niece when Lucas stopped by, and though he was drawn to the little girl, he doesn’t know why.

However, everything could come to a surprise collision when the two realize they are both back in town, and Mimi realizes she now has not just one big secret to keep, but a second on as well. The pair’s reunion will certainly bring some new sparks to Salem, especially if Rex manages to piece together the clues about the baby and figures out the truth.

“Days of Our Lives” airs weekdays on NBC.
