Roman Fedortsov, a Russian fisherman working on a trawler in Murmansk is famous for sharing pictures of some of his bizarre catches on Instagram. This time, he posted a photo of what appeared like the most grotesque creature to have gotten caught on his net so far.

Fedortsov posted the picture of the strangest of his finds on Instagram, both to the delight and fear of his 65,000 followers. In the picture shared on May 9, Fedortsov is seen holding a fish with protruding yellow eyes and gums sticking out from its jaw.

Take a look below:

While the species and the name of the fish weren't immediately clear, it resembled the creatures usually seen in sci-fi films. In the description of the post, Fedortsov implied that the fish was found about 1,100 meters deep into the ocean, thus proving that there lies an unending mystery under the deep waves of the ocean.

This is not the first time when Fedortsov, caught the world's attention through his post. He has photographed countless deep-sea species that were hauled up accidentally into his trawler. Almost all the creatures seen on his Instagram feed have some similar characteristics including large sharp teeth and huge scary eyes.

His social media feed consists of the pictures of several bizarre species ranging from one-eyed fish, and bearded sea devils, to a fish that exactly looked like a cheeseburger.

His fans met the post with warm comments. "Thank you for sharing with us! Love your posts," wrote a person. "Is that Arnold Schwarzenegger in Total Recall?" one user joked. "Is this macro?" a third person asked in Russian. "We still don't know what is in our oceans," another person said, noting that each of Fedortsov's finds reveals a new fact about the incredible aquatic world. One person even likened the creature to the large-headed Blobfish. "Poor thing exploded like a blobfish, but only from its eyes and mouth," a fourth person wrote in the comment section. "Insanely awesome," wrote an amused follower.
