Demi Lovato has come a long way since first appearing in Disney Channel’s "Camp Rock" in 2008. Over the past 12 years, Lovato has grown from a shy, smiling teenager, to a force to be reckoned with in the music industry.

Singing the national anthem at the Super Bowl on Sunday marks her second national performance this year. Lovato’s appearance at the Grammys last month singing her original song, “Anyone,” was her first performance since her drug overdose in July 2018.

Lovato seemed "Confident" while belting out the U.S. ballad, and kept her eyes closed for almost the entirety of the performance at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.

“I don’t remember anything! I blacked out,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “I was so excited.”

Singing “The Star Spangled Banner” at the Super Bowl has been a dream of Lovato’s for years now. Back in February 2010, Lovato tweeted: “One day, I'm gonna sing the national anthem at a super bowl. Onnnee dayyy..."

It seems dreams do come true, and Lovato predicted her own future. She posted a screenshot of the 2010 tweet on her Instagram right before her performance on Sunday, captioning it: “Stealing this from @scooterbraun. Dreams really do come true y’all.”

Scooter Braun began managing Lovato in May of last year, Billboard reported. She signed with Braun just before his public feud with another megastar, Taylor Swift, which took place over the ownership of Swift’s songs.
