On the PlayStation Blog, the game developer also revealed its plans to release several free updates as soon as "Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles" releases later in 2021. The studio also promised to provide more details on every update soon. Interestingly, the same PlayStation blog features several images of the fierce and powerful Spider Demon Rui and other demons from the Natagumo Mountain Arc.

Since the game's Story Mode will cover the events of Mugen Train, it is possible that other demons introduced between the arcs would become playable. In July, CyberConnect 2 dropped the first gameplay footage of "Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles."

It showcased Tenjiro, Zenitsu and Hasibira in the Tsuzumi Mansion. It is possible that the Tsuzumi Mansion demon would be one of the playable characters that would be introduced in the free post-launch update. Other demons featured in past promotional materials are Yahaba and Susamaru, which could also become playable soon.

Several new screenshots centered on the Story Mode were also released on Monday. These images are from the series' Natagumo Mountain Arc. Some of these photos also appeared on the Jump cover.

"Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles" is scheduled to release in Japan and other regions in Asia on Oct. 14. As for its western release, gamers can get their hands on the game on Oct. 15.
