Hallmark Channel’s very merry holiday season continues with the newest” Countdown to Christmas” holiday premiere, “A Dickens of a Holiday!” The film, which stars Brooke d’Orsay and Kristoffer Polaha, premieres Friday night.

Fans will certainly have a reason to be delighted by the film, which will reunite them with two familiar faces from the network, who despite having a number of credits to both their names, have yet to star together in a movie.

D’Orsay is one of the network’s Christmas queens, having starred in recent years in the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries films “A Godwink Christmas: Second Chance, First Love” and “Nostalgic Christmas,” as well as the Hallmark Channel films “Christmas in Love” and “Miss Christmas.” Fans may also recognize her from the non-holiday film “Beverly Hills Wedding,” or from her work off Hallmark, which included portraying Paige Collins on “Royal Pains.”

As for Polaha, he’s likely still well-recognized for starring opposite a then-soon-to-be real-life royal from 2016’s “Dater’s Handbook,” where his co-star was Meghan Markle. Of course, fans also recognize him from other roles, which include Hallmark Channel’s “Pearl in Paradise” and “Double Holiday,” as well as Hallmark Movies & Mysteries’ “Small Town Christmas” and “Rocky Mountain Christmas.”

So what will happen when these two finally star together in a film? Let’s find out.

“Christmas Eve marks the 100th anniversary of Dickens’ Days in Dickens, Ohio, a Victorian festival that ends with the community theatre’s production of ‘A Christmas Carol,’” a synopsis reads. “However, when the lead actor is forced to drop out, director Cassie (D’Orsay) reaches out to Dickens’ native and former high school classmate Jake (Polaha), an action movie star who wants more serious roles in Hollywood.”

When Jake agrees, things get off to an initial rough start, but time together as they work on the play—and take part in some of the town’s other festivities—starts to see them soften to one another. In the end, they both wind up being just what the other one needs in order to have a very merry holiday season.

“It’s up to director Cassie to show Jake the actor he’s capable of a serious, leading man role,” the synopsis continues. “In turn, Jake helps Cassie realize she’s still the most likely to succeed, just in roles she never expected: a teacher, a coach and a leader.”

“A Dickens of a Holiday!” airs Friday at 8 p.m. EST on Hallmark Channel.
