A major portion of “A Discovery of Witches” Season 2 filming has been completed. The production in the UK has wrapped, and the filming has moved on to Italy.

The popular fantasy drama series will be taking the fans on a long journey across Europe. The official Twitter page of the TV series shared a picture from the production set recently and announced that the filming in UK has finally wrapped.

The producers had previously teased a still from the next season to give the fans a glimpse of Elizabethan London. The picture showed the vampire Matthew De Clermont (Matthew Goode) and the witch Diana (Teresa Palmer) walking through the narrow alley of the city, dressed in clothes that are suitable for the era.

The next leg of the production will take the cast and crew to Italy. Details about the scenes that are being filmed there may be revealed by the actors in the coming days.

“ We can’t wait for you to experience the magic onscreen in 2020!” the Twitter post about “A Discovery of Witches” Season 2 stated. The picture shows one of the cast members playing with a snake on the production set while some of the crewmembers look on in the background. The actress wore a dark coat with a golden buckle in the post.

The still from the next season that the producers previously shared is expected to be Blackfriars. This is an important location in the books written by Deborah Harkness, on which the TV series is based.

Both Diana and Matthew will travel to Blackfrairs in order to hide from the Congregation. Once in the city, they will attempt to discover the secrets of the Book of Life.

“A Discovery of Witches” Season 2 will be released in 2020. The producers are yet to announce an exact release date.
