“Woman” singer Doja Cat has pulled out of her scheduled performance at the 2022 Brit Awards in London after some members of her crew tested positive for COVID-19.

The 26-year-old musician made the announcement Monday in a tweet, saying that “numerous” members of her crew have contracted the virus.

“Unfortunately, due to cases of COVID within my crew, I will no longer be performing at the Brits,” she tweeted. “My team and I have been in rehearsals for weeks and despite taking the utmost caution, numerous members of my crew (both on and offstage) have tested positive for COVID. It’s simply not safe for us to continue to rehearse together and put each other in harm’s way. I can’t wait to perform for my UK fans as soon as I can. Take care of yourselves.”

A fan replied to her post and expressed her disappointment for her upcoming absence in the awards show: “COVID keeps ruining everything.”

Doja Cat was supposed to perform for the awards show in London’s O2 Arena on Feb. 8 along with Ed Sheeran, Dave, Holly Humberstone, Liam Gallagher, Little Simz and Sam Fender.

This year, Doja Cat has two Brit Awards nominations: International Artist of the Year and Best International Song for “Kiss Me More,” featuring SZA. For the title, she is up against Billie Eilish, Lil Nas X, Olivia Rodrigo and Taylor Swift.

This was supposed to be her first show in the U.K., according to Billboard.

The show’s producers earlier vowed that they will ensure that the show will meet all safety protocols amid the continued rise of the highly transmissible Omicron variant of COVID-19.

The awards show introduced four new categories -- Alternative/Rock Act, Dance Act, Hip Hop/Grime/Rap Act and Pop/R&B Act -- which are fan-voted, according to Vogue UK.

Votes can be cast on these categories through TikTok until Thursday.

The show will be hosted by British comedian Mo Gilligan who revealed his excitement in a statement with Vogue UK saying, “ I want it to feel like I’m hosting a party – and I want everyone at home to feel like they’ve been at the party.”

The 2022 Brit Awards will be streamed through ITV and ITV Hub and outside the U.K., the awards show can be viewed on Brit Awards YouTube channel.
