Dolly Parton’s net worth is at least $600 million, per Celebrity Net Worth. She started her career in music in 1967 after releasing her debut album called "Hello, I'm Dolly." Parton then went on to have a career many just dream to have. She has won Grammy Awards, American Music Awards and Country Music Awards, among others. Her albums have sold hundred million copies to date.

Born Dolly Rebecca Parton, the country hitmaker starred in several blockbuster films such as "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas", "Rhinestone", "Steel Magnolias" and "Joyful Noise". It is no wonder she remains a big star until today because of the many things she has been able to do and accomplish in her career which spans more than five decades.

In a report by Refinery29, the songwriter attributes her massive fortune to being business savvy. She once turned down a collaboration with Elvis Presley as talks of publishing rights broke down. Early on in her career, Parton knew her worth and did not settle for anything less. The “9 to 5” singer parted ways with mentor Porter Wagoner after he refused to give her a pay raise.

The Tennessee native also built a theme park in 1986 named after her. “Dollywood” is still open today and can still draw a large crowd especially tourists. The theme park features cabins, water shows and dinner shows, among other attractions.

When asked when she'll retire, Parton shunned the question. "I don't plan to retire. I just turned 74 and I plan to be on the cover of Playboy magazine again," she claimed in a CNN interview.

Some of Parton’s hits include “Jolene,” and “I Will Always Love You”. She catapulted into superstardom after Whitney Houston covered the song “I Will Always Love You” for the movie “The Bodyguard.” Unknown to many, it was Parton who penned and first performed the song in the ‘70s. She received a substantial amount of royalties from the song, which is around $20 million when adjusted to the current rate.
