A recent poll found the topic Americans dislike talking about the most around the Thanksgiving table is president Donald Trump. It comes second only to religion, and Americans would rather talk about pretty much anything else except Trump.

For young people, the president is more unpopular a topic of conversation than religion. The Business Insider poll shows he's even more unpopular than relationships and financial situations.

This seems to be the odd reason why presidential eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., decided to make a mess of Thanksgiving by challenging his base to "trigger" their liberal relatives into a conversation (and probably a fight) at Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday and video it. He sent this challenge to his 2.1 million followers on Instagram.

"Trigger a liberal thanksgiving!" Trump tweeted on Wednesday. "Have some fun & talk politics at the thanksgiving table. Best pic/vid of something/someone triggered maybe w/ my book, wins a signed copy of Triggered & a MAGA hat... Tag me in IG pics & I’ll choose by Sunday. Have fun!" wrote Don Jr.

His infamous book, "Triggered: How the Left Thrives on Hate and Wants to Silence Us," made it to the top of The New York Times non-fiction bestseller list on account of huge bulk buys by the Republican National Committee (RNC).

"Have some fun with this guys," wrote Don Jr. on Instagram on Wednesday. "Let's see how triggered you can get them."

Now, we wait for those videos to hit social media to see how many were paying attention. But, as of this moment, twitterverse is enraged by Don Jr.’s call to transform Thanksgiving into a brawl instead of a happy time where families get together in peace and harmony.

"Trying to break up families at the dinner table just like you do at the border," tweeted one social media user. Another one said, "So on brand - dividing Americans and delighting in their pain."

A tweeter named @toquell wrote, "That’s what the Trump brand is: incite hatred and division and make a few more bucks off it. Ingenious and sardonic."
