As far as Dwyane Wade is concerned, adjusting to life after basketball is what matters at this point. With regards to his NBA career, the raging debate on who had a better one between him and former Boston Celtics star Paul Pierce is hardly of any importance right now.

Pierce caused quite a stir last month when he responded to a question on who between him and D-Wade had a better career. The 41-year-old retired star claimed that he had the better basketball career compared to Wade and such did not sit well with Miami Heat fans, TMZ Sports reported.

"That’s easy, I can say that off the bat, that’s me,” Pierce said. "I’m 24 or 25 and you give me [LeBron James] and [Chris Bosh], I’d be sitting on five or six championships easily."

Comparing two future NBA players hardly comes as a surprise although the modern age has allowed fans to air their opinions. And as expected, there were some made their feelings known when Wade played out his final NBA game in Miami. When asked to comment on the whole thing, Wade maintained his composure and even got lauded for responding to the claims of the 10th overall pick of the 1998 NBA Draft.

"I'm a high road kind of person ... I won't put another black man down," said Wade.

While some view it as a shot by Wade against Pierce, it seems to be a safe swipe that could finally put an end to the issue. If accomplishments are to be the basis, Wade has done pretty much enough to prove that he did have a great career. He has three NBA titles, a 13-time NBA All-Star, and an NBA Finals MVP award, Heat Nation reported.

Pierce, on the other hand, boasts of an NBA title and NBA Finals MVP award from 2008. He is also a 10-time NBA All-Star. If one is to use these accomplishments as a basis, it seems pretty clear that Wade has accomplished a lot as well.

Regardless, the fact is that both Wade and Pierce will eventually be enshrined to the NBA Hall of Fame. Some feel that both have a beef against the other but it seems the whole thing is just being overblown with both now simply enjoying their retirement. Pierce seems to be fully adjusted to it while Wade is still waiting for it to sink in. Thankfully, the 37-year-old guard has Gabrielle Union by his side to help him to adjust to real life post-retirement.
