An eight-year-old girl has "married" a 13-year-old child influencer and moved in together, with the full support of their parents, sparking public outrage.

Ukrainian child model Mila Maxanets and teen star Pavel Pai started "dating" with the backing of their parents, who claim they don't see any problem with the arrangement, reports News.Com.

The parents also denied cashing in on the children's fame. Mina has more than 516,000 followers on Instagram while Pavel has over 50,000.

The marriage has courted controversy after local media reported that the children now live together in the Ukrainian capital city of Kyiv. Their recent pictures, showing them chained together for four hours as part of an Instagram challenge, have been tagged provocative.

Local police have questioned Mila's mother over these photos and according to reports, a criminal case has been filed regarding the alleged distribution of pornography.

Mila's father has responded to the controversy, saying her mother is using the child as a main source of income. The couple divorced two years ago. A local website also reported that the two minors “married" each other in a pretend ceremony as their parents believed the story would bring in a lot of income on social media. The families have not yet responded to the criticisms.

Meanwhile, critics have demanded that the authorities step in and take the influencer kids into care and block their social media accounts. Many have accused the parents of crossing the moral line.

Reacting to the incident, Lawyer and criminologist Anna Malyar accused the parents of negligent behavior. “The girl has millions of subscribers on various social networks who constantly follow her as an idol,” Malyar said.

“So there is a risk that they will begin to imitate their idol and become easy prey for pedophiles. This absolutely goes against the normal sexual development of children.”

Recently, a Russian weight loss and lifestyle blogger had made headlines after ditching her husband of 10 years to marry his son.

Marina Balmasheva later gave birth to the stepson's child, which she announced on her Instagram account. Balmasheva had known her stepson and now-husband Vladimir since he was seven.
