KEY POINTS

  • Flame of the Fell God drops from Adan, the Thief of Fire
  • Adan is an invader-type enemy locked inside Malefactor's Evergaol
  • The incantation's damage scales with the passive from the Giant's Seal

The Flame of the Fell God is a pyromancy-type incantation that creates a large glob of flame slowly floating toward enemies before exploding spectacularly. It is also one of the legendary incantations required to unlock an achievement.

This incantation can be obtained relatively early in the game. It drops from Adan, the Thief of Fire, who is locked inside an Evergaol in Liurnia of the Lakes. Adan fights like an ordinary player-type NPC. He moves and fights like a hostile phantom, but he does use Flame of the Fell God somewhat regularly.

Adan can be fought at the Malefactor’s Evergaol, found on a cliff in southern Liurnia. To reach the area, players must first go to the southwestern edge of the marsh, then travel east once they get on top of the large landmass.

Admittedly, this miniboss is fairly easy to beat. Treat Adan like any hostile invader and players should be able to take him down in no time. Like other Evergaols, there will be a nearby Statue of Marika that players can use to respawn in case they fail.

Flame of the Fell God travels very slowly, but it can deal high amounts of damage when it explodes. It also leaves behind a patch of flame that constantly burns anything that stands on it. Apart from Adan, the Fire Giant boss at the Mountaintops of the Giants also uses this incantation in combat.

This ability is best used against slow or immobile targets because of the fireball’s sluggish movement speed. It can also be used in PvP to zone out or pressure enemies while pelting them with other attacks.

Flame of the Fell God has a high FAI requirement of 41. It also needs two Memory Slots, and each cast uses up to 50 FP. Its damage can be boosted by using the Giant’s Seal and the Fire Scorpion Charm, though the latter will also make the players a bit more vulnerable to damage.

Drinking the Flask of Wondrous Physick with the Flame-Shrouding Cracked Tear and the Cerulean Hidden Tear will let players spam damage-boosted fireballs for a limited duration.
