free rein s3 release
Zoe (Jaylen Barron) and her horse, Raven, are a perfect pair on Netflix’s “Free Rein.” Netflix

UPDATE: June 30, 8:42 p.m. EDT -- Fans will get to see new episodes of “Free Rein” on Saturday (July 6) when all of Season 3 is released on Netflix.

Original story: “Free Rein” fans just got a new Valentine’s Day special on Friday, but that’ll likely only have them begging for more of the Netflix show. Luckily, Season 3 is on its way.

The teen equestrian series will be back before the year ends with all-new episodes. That’s right, although two holiday specials — Christmas and Valentine’s Day — were released over the last couple of months, more is still coming.

An exact release date for Season 3 has not yet been announced, but it’ll arrive at some point in 2019 and will likely be here before the end of July, if past release dates are any indication.

Season 1 of “Free Rein” dropped on Netflix on June 22, 2017, while Season 2 came out on July 6, 2018. Aside from those previous dates, another reason fans should expect a summer release for Season 3 is because star Jaylen Barron (Zoe) told International Business Times that the episodes will once again focus on the summer season.

She shared that this will be Zoe’s third summer at Bright Fields, meaning Season 3 will pick up a few months after the events of the Valentine’s Day-centric special that was released on Friday. A lot can happen in that amount of time, but Barron teased a little bit about those changes in order to hold fans over until the show returns.

“You’ll definitely see way more relationships change,” the actress told IBT. “Gaby [Charlotte Jordan] and Zoe’s relationship changes. You’ll have to watch for, ‘Is it for the good, or is it for the not?’ Pony Squad’s still going strong. Zoe and Pin’s [Freddy Carter] relationship, I can guarantee you that it is solid and great, and they’re such a healthy couple. They’re not toxic at all.”

She continued: “Honestly, there’s a lot of Pony Squad. There’s a lot of adventures we go on.”

There will be plenty of time for those adventures to happen, too, because Barron revealed there will still be 10 episodes in Season 3, the same as previous seasons, on top of the two recently-released holiday specials.

Get excited about it all because “Free Rein” Season 3 is coming out on Netflix later this year.
