KEY POINTS

  • On Thursday, Trump sent at least 115 tweets, retweets in new personal record
  • Sneer for Democrats, rap for FBI and a pat for U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson
  • Trump rage also directed at European allies

Donald Trump did it again! The embattled U.S. President poured out his heart on Twitter to break his personal record for the third time this week.

Trump posted at least 115 tweets and retweets on Thursday, breaking the record set the previous day. He congratulated British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on the election victory, called the FBI "dirty cops" and, you guessed it right, termed the impeachment procedure "a hoax."

In a thread of tweets blasting the Democrats in Congress, the FBI and the Justice Department for their “surreal...abuse” of the president, Trump quoted Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX), one of his staunchest supporters in the House.

Trump labeled the FBI as “dirty cops” in another tweet, referring to the report released by the Justice Department inspector general on Monday which concluded that there was no anti-Trump bias behind the decision to monitor members of his campaign in 2016.

Several European allies also came under fire. The president said countries like Germany and France should be “helping Ukraine more.”

Trump congratulated British Prime Minister Boris Johnson for his party’s victory in a vote on Thursday.

Trump also congratulated MMA fighter Bryce Mitchell after his match, adding that Antifa, the shorted name given to a loosely affiliated group dubbed Antifascists, will “not be going after Bryce.”

Not surprisingly, a large number of Trump’s Thursday tweets revolved around his impeachment.

Referring to a recent interview with Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), Trump said that she had been “duped” and had “lied” by “admitting that she has been working on impeaching me for ‘two and a half years’” and again called the process a “hoax.”

Replying to a tweet from conservative commentator David Rivkin, who said impeachment was being “wielded as a political weapon,” Trump said he was in agreement.

The strain from the acceleration of the impeachment process this week is clearly weighing heavily on the president’s mind. With House Democrats announcing their desire to hold a vote on impeachment Friday, Trump can be expected to resume venting on Twitter well through the weekend. Will he set another tweeting record in the coming days?
