Fans of 90s drama were in their glory earlier this year when FOX announced it would be bringing back a familiar group of faces for a special series this summer. Now, the fans of a very specific and prestigious zip code in California are eagerly awaiting to see what is being called “90210.”

FOX announced back in February that they were bringing this new reboot of “Beverly Hills, 90210” back for a six-episode revival. Since then, there has been some majorly upsetting news to plague the cast, following the unexpected and sudden death of former co-star Luke Perry, but the project is still set to commence.

Here’s everything we know so far about the new revival.

It Is Set To Air This Summer

Though the initial announcement didn’t give a specific premiere date, FOX did reveal that the show is set to air during the summer of 2019.

Luke Perry Will Be Honored In Some Way

The same day the project was announced, it was also announced that of the original cast, only Jason Priestley (Brandon Walsh), Jennie Garth (Kelly Taylor), Brian Austin Green (David Silver), Tori Spelling (Donna Martin), Ian Ziering (Steve Sanders) and Gabrielle Carteris (Andrea Zuckerman) would be announcing. Due to scheduling conflicts, Shannen Doherty (Brenda Walsh) and Luke Perry (Dylan McKay), would not be participating. However, not long after that, news also broke that Perry had been hospitalized after suffering from a stroke. One week later, he had passed away.

However, though he was not set to appear in the project, it was later reported that he would still be honored in some way, though the way it would be handled had yet to have been determined.

The Cast Is Playing ‘Heightened Versions’ Of Themselves

While the cast is reuniting and revisiting their former famous characters, don’t expect to see the old West Bev gang, as the show will see them instead playing “heightened versions of themselves” according to a press release. It will feature a “healthy dose of irreverence—that is inspired by their real lives and relationships.”

The show is following the stars as they reunite for the first time in two decades as they attempt to get a reboot series underway.

Shannen Doherty Is Set To Return

After initially not signing on to the reboot, Shannen Doherty has had a change of heart. Though her character did leave the show after four seasons, Doherty will be returning along with everyone else and is also signed on as an Executive Producer. Doherty has reportedly reconsidered her involvement due to Perry’s death, and it factored into her decision to sign on now.

The Series Will Shoot In Vancouver

The series might still be set in the world’s most famous zip code, but that doesn’t mean it will be filming there. Instead, the series is heading North of the border. According to The Vancouver Sun, the series will film in North Vancouver from May 21-July 31.
