Comic book creator and video game director Jason Rubin has invested in a new property located only next door to his Hollywood Hills residence.

Forking over an astounding $5.4 million, Rubin racks up a new cul-de-sac home sitting atop the Los Angeles Sunset Strip as an addition to his real estate portfolio, Variety reported. The video game pioneer’s newly-bought compound divides into two separate structures with an area in between that measures an extensive 15,000 square feet.

Built around the 1960s, the decades-old Sunset Strip residence appears to have undergone some reconstruction in the mid-’80s, updating its previously antiquated theme. The property now has more quasi-contemporary features that have been curated anew, making the estate blend well into the latter-day interior design styles. The custom interior décor features a quirky and off-center motif handpicked to match the house’s modern feel.

The new LA property houses a professional screening room covered with forest green walls. The kitchen also has mint green cabinets that complement the color motif. Although the cream-colored living area seems to be mismatched among the uniformly green hues, its extensive open-plan space is still excellent.

Other rooms include the master suite boasting dual bathrooms that are both fixed with earthly stone wallpaper colors. In addition to the clashing color themes is the distinctive shade of hot pink painted on one of the walk-in closets.

Though the property is predominantly relished with idiosyncratic patterns, it still offers a wide variety of upscale amenities and appliances. Besides the obligatory top-end kitchen utilities, the home’s family room features a sophisticated wet bar paired with vast outdoor terraces.

As opposed to his main residence situated only a few meters away from his new one, Rubin’s new home in Bird Streets, the large pool and spa are definitely the property’s clear-cut treat as the area is overlooking westward sceneries that hover the Pacific Ocean and Century city skyline. While it is unclear how the video game guru will utilize his recently bought estate, Rubin has definitely scored a worthy find.

Aside from being a video game virtuoso and comic book writer, Rubin is also the renowned vice president of Facebook’s special gaming initiatives. Rubin, 50, published his first game called “Ski Crazed” while he was still in his teens.

In his 20’s, he also designed “Crash Bandicoot,” among Sony’s big shot video games amid the peak of the Play Station era in the 90’s. In addition to his video game is Rubin's deluxe hardcover "The Crash Bandicoot Files: How Willy the Wombat Sparked Marsupial Mania," which he created alongside Andy Gavin.

A savvy in his video game and comic book innovations, Rubin has truly established a career through the powerful influence of his imagination.
