Floyd Mayweather didn’t only improve his record to 50-0 and cement his legacy as the best boxer of his generation with a win over Conor McGregor Saturday night. He potentially earned more money than any athlete ever has for one night’s work, and his net worth makes him one of the richest celebrities in the world.

Mayweather’s final payday will be determined by the pay-per-view sales and the ticket revenue from the super-fight at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. He was guaranteed $100 million, while McGregor is certain to make at least $30 million, though both fighters will end up with somewhere between two and a half and three and a half times those paychecks.

Most projections have the fight breaking the record of 4.6 million PPV buys set by Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao on May 2, 2015. Mayweather has estimated that he’ll earn close to $300 million for the bout, which would put his career earnings at over $1 billion.

With more than $700 million in earnings heading into the fight, Mayweather was already in a class of his own. While Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods have both made 10 figures since they turned pro, both did it with the help out of outside endorsements. Mayweather’s earnings from boxing alone could reach $1 billion.

Mayweather’s projections could be slightly high. Kevin Iole of Yahoo Sports has estimated that the undefeated boxer will earn $250 million if the PPV reaches 4.6 million buys or breaks the record.

Then again, nobody could have predicted that Mayweather-Pacquiao would have done such incredible numbers. The previous PPV record was set when Mayweather and Oscar De La Hoya generated 2.4 million buys in 2007, and it wasn’t even certain that the 2015 super-fight would crack three million buys.

If Mayweather and McGregor ended up selling more than five million PPVs, which is a distinct possibility, a $300 million payday could be in the cards for Saturday’s winner. McGregor is expected to make $100 million.

Mayweather’s exact net worth is unknown, but there have been a few estimates following his fight with McGregor.

Celebrity Net Worth puts Mayweather’s net worth at $560 million. The website had his net worth at $400 million prior to the bout, and a $300 million payday would net him around $160 million after taxes.

Forbes estimated Mayweather’s net worth to be $340 million as of December 2016. With a guaranteed check of $100 million, that would put his current net worth at $440 million, though that would certainly change in the coming months because of PPV revenue and taxes.

Mayweather made more than $300 million for his fights with Pacquiao and Andre Berto in 2015, though he didn't fight last year. He has been guaranteed a purse of at least $32 million in each of his last eight fights.

Despite all his riches, Mayweather has unresolved issues with the IRS. He reportedly owes $22.2 million in taxes from 2015. According to different reports, Mayweather earned somewhere between $240 and $260 million for spending 36 minutes in the ring with Pacquiao.

Mayweather needed less than a half hour to finish McGregor and earn either the biggest or second-biggest payday in sports history.
