  • Floyd Mayweather confirms exhibition match against Logan Paul
  • Mayweather and Paul have gone back-and-forth on social media
  • Some believe Mayweather wants revenge for Nate Robinson

A few moments ago, Floyd Mayweather Jr. made a shocking confirmation, officially announcing an exhibition boxing match against Logan Paul on February 20 next year through his Instagram account.

The 43-year-old retired pugilist apparently works with Fanmio Boxing for the highly-anticipated encounter, confirming that “Early Bird Special” tickets are now on sale and there will be more updates coming soon.

Prior to the announcement, Mayweather and Paul had already engaged in a war of words on social media. It can be recalled that “Money” took a dig on the 25-year-old on Twitter, suggesting that should a bout between them comes to fruition, the latter might also end up like Conor McGregor in 2017.

“These YouTube girls better find some Barbie dolls to play with cause I’m not the one for the kid games,” Mayweather tweeted. “Three years ago a fighter from the UFC said my name and I had to put a muzzle on that bitch. Logan Paul can get the same treatment before I go conquer Japan again.”

Just hours after Mayweather’s rant, Paul replied with a simple “50-1,” strongly suggesting that he would put an end to the boxer’s flawless record when they finally meet inside the ring.

The beef between Mayweather and Logan intensified when the undefeated boxer sympathized with former NBA player Nate Robinson, shortly after Paul's younger brother Jake viciously knocked him out in the co-main event of Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones Jr. clash.

Now that an exhibition showdown between the pair is in the works, some believe that Mayweather wants to avenge his “brother."

“Nate, I’m proud of you and I will always stand behind all my brothers,” the boxing legend wrote. “I will never kick my brother when he’s down. It’s ok for people to voice their opinions on social media, but no black athletes or black entertainers, especially black NBA players should make a mockery out of you."

"We are supposed to all stand with each other through the good, bad and ugly. I’m here to uplift you and let you know we all love you and congratulate you for just making an effort.”

Mayweather was also involved in an exhibition boxing match a few years ago when he took on unbeaten Japanese kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa at Rizin 14 on Dec. 31, 2018. He won via first-round stoppage.
