With his fight against Conor McGregor less than two months away, Floyd Mayweather is in the gym training for the Aug. 26 bout. The boxer posted a video of his latest session on his official Instagram page as he prepares to solidify a 50-0 career record.

Mayweather hasn’t fought in nearly two years when he defeated Andre Berto on Sept. 12, 2015, and he’ll step into the ring opposite the UFC lightweight champion at 40 years old. The greatest boxer of his generation doesn’t look like he’s lost a step since dominating his last bout and winning by unanimous decision.

“I know I'm not the same fighter I was 20 years ago, I'm not the same fighter I was 10 years ago,” Mayweather said in his Facebook post. “As a matter of fact, I'm not the same fighter I was 5 years ago, I'm just an old legend putting in work in 16 oz gloves.”

For those giving McGregor a chance to actually beat Mayweather and pull off arguably the greatest upset in boxing history, age is a major factor. The UFC star will be just 29 years old on Aug. 26, still in the prime of his career. The age difference between the two fighters is one of the big reasons why so many people are giving McGregor a puncher’s chance, and he’s an even smaller underdog than some of Mayweather’s recent opponents, as a result.

McGregor himself has poked fun at Mayweather’s age. When the fight was announced as official on June 14, McGregor tweeted “THE FIGHT IS ON” with a picture of himself and Floyd Mayweather Sr. side by side.

A day earlier, McGregor took a similar jab at Mayweather, posting a picture of the 40-year-old with the caption, “Man, much respect to Floyd Senior still getting a few rounds in at the gym. I hope I can still train at that age. Respect.”

McGregor hasn’t been shy about sharing pictures of himself training as he gets ready for the first professional boxing match of his career. Some videos that show him trying to box, however, haven’t exactly been encouraging for his chances of beating Mayweather.

Chris van Heerden, a professional boxer and former welterweight champion, sparred with McGregor last summer. After it was announced that the Mayweather-McGregor fight would actually be happening, van Heerden released footage of himself boxing with McGregor, looking to prove that Mayweather would win with ease.

“When people ask me why I’ve released this footage now, it’s because it hurts me that there are guys like myself who have been devoted to this sport, risking our lives,” van Heerden told MMAjunkie. “And to see McGregor, who has zero knowledge of professional boxing, make it out like he could just get out of an octagon, step in the ring and beat up the best pound-for-pound fighter out there – to just make out like our lifestyle is so easy and that anybody could do it, and then for people to be saying he has a big chance of beating Floyd. I just thought, judge for yourself.”

The contrast in videos of Mayweather and McGregor boxing shouldn’t come as much of a surprise. Mayweather is undefeated in 49 professional fights, and future Hall of Famers like Manny Pacquiao, Miguel Cotto and Oscar De La Hoya didn’t come very close to beating him. Having never boxed professionally, McGregor would likely get outclassed by all of Mayweather’s recent opponents.

It should be interesting to see if the public begins to realize just how big a of mismatch this super-fight is as Aug. 26 gets closer.
