Former Inter Milan manager Antonio Conte believes that Achraf Hakimi will make his way back to Real Madrid sometime in his career.

Speaking with Sky Sport Italia, Conte talked about Hakimi and his experience coaching the right-back.

“Psychologically, Hakimi suffered a little bit from last year's games," Conte said, referring to Inter Milan’s two Champions League matches against Real Madrid. "I remember those two games very well. From that point on, he worked a lot and I saw a young player who wanted to learn how to [improve].”

“His dream is to play for Real Madrid again as a key player."

Conte also revealed in the same interview that Hakimi had to be benched in some games in order for him to understand his mistakes and Hakimi embraced that fact fully.

After losing Hakimi to Paris Saint-Germain, Inter Milan decided to sign Netherlands’ Denzel Dumfries after an impressive showing at the 2020 European Football Championship.

The 52-year-old Conte believes that Dumfries will be a more than suitable replacement for Inter Milan.

"They have signed a great player to replace Hakimi. If he can work his way into the team, he can be a great replacement for him," he stated.

Hakimi was a major piece in Conte’s Inter Milan side winning the Serie A title last season and has seen himself leave Italy to join Paris Saint-Germain this summer for a transfer fee of €60 million ($71 million).

Paris Saint-Germain became one of the hottest transfer destinations this summer as they were able to sign marquee names such as Sergio Ramos and Lionel Messi after both players opted to leave their clubs due to certain circumstances.

The French side has been pegged as the favorites to win the Ligue 1 title this season and is expected to be contenders for this season’s UEFA Champions League title.

Other than Ramos, Real Madrid also saw the departure of Raphael Varane after selling him to Manchester United.

In order to remain competitive, however, Los Blancos were able to acquire Eduardo Camavinga from Rennes and scored a goal shortly after coming off the bench in their 5-2 victory over Celta Vigo in a La Liga fixture.
