It’s no secret that Michael Strahan and his ex-wife Jean Muggli are in the midst of a nasty custody battle. However, a Montclair, New Jersey resident, who used to live next door to the couple, has revealed new details about the couple’s “contentious relationship” prior to their divorce.

“They would have loud fights,” the former neighbor told Page Six.

The source even provided details about Muggli selling her husband’s belongings when he was out of the house.

“That weekend, she threw his stuff outside and put up a ‘yard sale’ sign,” the resident revealed. “There was his personal football stuff and personal effects. I was sorry later on that I did not buy something.”

Strahan, 48, and Muggli, 54, married in 1999 and split in 2006. Upon hearing the news that year, another neighbor was surprised by the couple’s decision.

“I never thought there was a piece of trouble anywhere,” the source told the New York Times. “We were shocked. You just don’t know your neighbors when you think you know your neighbors.”

The two share 15-year-old twin daughters Sophia and Isabella. At the end of their divorce, a judge awarded Muggli $15.3 million. Additionally, Strahan was ordered to pay her $18,000 per month in child support.

Now, as the two battle for custody of the teens, sources connected to Muggli are saying that Strahan has failed to meet certain court-ordered “obligations.” As a result, she is seeking over a half a million dollars in back child support.

However, sources connected to Strahan say Muggli’s New York filing is simply her attempt to increase his monthly child support payments. The “Good Morning America” host also claims that Muggli has a "pattern of abusive conduct towards the children for years."

If Strahan, who currently only has visitation rights, obtains full custody, the girls will move out of Muggli’s home in North Carolina and head to his residence in New York.
