Wendy’s (WEN) is looking to bring American closer by offering one big hug to customers through what it is calling a “GroupNug.”

The fast-food chain is giving every customer that comes through its drive-thru on Friday a free GroupNug, which translates into a free four-piece chicken nuggets. The chicken nuggets can be ordered as crispy or spicy and are being given away as a positive pick me up to patrons during the coronavirus pandemic.

“Wendy's restaurant teams across the nation have been living out one of Wendy's most important values – Do the Right Thing – by helping their communities wherever they can during this unprecedented time,” said Carl Loredo, Wendy's U.S. chief marketing officer, said in a statement.

“These actions shine a light on so many individuals both in Wendy's and across the nation doing good for others. We want to show our appreciation with our GroupNug offer for the entire country,” he added.

Wendy’s is offering the promotion at participating restaurants nationwide with no purchase necessary to receive the free chicken nugget deal. The offer is limited to one free four-piece chicken nuggets per vehicle while supplies last.

The promotion is not available for carryout or delivery orders.
