If you're planning on ordering any last-minute gifts online before the holidays, Friday will be your saving grace in terms of shipping deals.

Welcome to Free Shipping Day, a holiday where all items at participating retailers will be available to ship for free with no minimum purchases. Just think of it as the Black Friday of shipping deals.

According to Freeshippingday.com, well more than 1,000 retailers will be participating in the nationwide event. From sporting goods stores to toy stores, shoppers will be able to save a few bucks and finish up their holiday shopping. In addition, all shipped items will be guaranteed to arrive by Christmas Eve. Free Shipping Day officially kicks off at 12:01 a.m. EST Friday.

To make things even better, many retailers will still be hosting holiday and Christmas sales Friday, so you could be saving on more than what you originally bargained for.

For 2016, Toys R Us will be participating in Free Shipping Day and rolling out Christmas sales. Target, another participating superstore, is currently offering discounts on select toys, kids clothing and special deals on Burt’s Bees products. Finally, Game Stop is working through its holiday sale, which concludes Saturday, and is promoting sales on games like "Call of Duty," "Skyrim" and more.
