Khloe Kardashian has been looking happier than she has in months, thanks to new boyfriend French Montana, but some people are not impressed. Her family is reportedly concerned he is using her, and some of his friends seem to agree.

“[They] are very skeptical of him. They think he's using Khloe for fame,” a source tells Us Weekly.

The two began dating in March, just months after Kardashian, 29, filed for divorce from NBA player Lamar Odom. The two married four years ago after a 30-day courtship. In November, in a bizarre rap video while drunk, Odom admitted to cheating on Kardashian. In August, he was arrested on charges of driving under the influence.

“This, in and of itself, is heart-breaking and torture to my soul,” she tweeted after filing for divorce. But since her split from her troubled husband, Kardashian has been spotted out on the town regularly with the Moroccan rapper. She even flew out to South Africa this week to attend the MTV Africa Music Awards with him.

But friends of the rapper think he is using Khloe as well. “He's eager to sit at the cool kids' table and has been trying to get close to people he thinks are popular. Being with Khloe means everyone knows who French is now, so he's getting a lot out of it,” a friend of his told the publication.

And after news of their romance emerged, French Montana’s estranged wife, Deen Kharbouch, had words of advice for her. “She has to be careful. Things are not what they seem,” she told Life & Style. Last September, she charged via Twitter that Montana left her and their 4-year-old son once he attained fame. The couple had been together seven years and married for six.

“He and I worked together to put him where he is. As soon as he popped, it was as if Kruz and I didn’t exist. He practically abandoned us,” she said.
