Apple’s Project Titan car initiative is still a mystery, but it appears that the company is actually working on a full-fledged Apple Car. Based on the recently discovered patents, it seems that the much-awaited revolutionary vehicle will house a plethora of new and unique features. The ambitious project is rumored to arrive in 2020, and if the patents are accurate, the Cupertino company is knee-deep working on the Apple Car and several other vehicle-related projects in the background.

Apple Car might have these three exciting features found in the latest patent application filed by the Cupertino-based tech giant. This includes Ultra Wideband Entry, Privacy Lighting, and Unique Side Mirrors.

Ultra Wideband Entry

The latest iPhone 11 series packs an Ultra Wideband chip, and while it does not do much now, it is an advanced feature for future Apple plans. This includes wireless tracking, or if we based on the latest patent, it would be used for keyless entry on Apple Car. As stated in the patent, the system could utilize a combination of UWB and Bluetooth to transfer data between the Apple Car’s security system and a device.

The patent suggests that the device could be an iPhone or an Apple Watch. Interestingly, owners could also assign different privileges to different devices like opening doors or turning on the vehicle’s ignition.

Privacy Lighting

Apple is a crusader of user privacy, and one of the patents recently spotted seems to reflect the company’s commitment extending to the lighting system of Apple Car. The Cupertino-based tech giant patented a system that would utilize car windows with controllable layers that could allow or restrict particular levels of kinds of light. This layer could be controlled by the system or the user at will.

Unique Side Mirrors

In addition to the two patents mentioned earlier, Apple also patented the Apple Car’s side mirror. The patent describes methods to enhance or totally change side mirrors, which could affect the width of the vehicle, among other factors. Apple plans to embed a mirror into the vehicle’s side with the use of optical elements to offer drivers a view outside without the need for an actual side mirror sticking outside of the Apple Car.

It is worth noting that these patents reveal exciting and revolutionary features for a vehicle. However, it does not follow that these features are for the highly anticipated Apple Car. But, we are hoping that Apple will push for these features and will make it available to the public soon.
