KEY POINTS

  • Pure physical damage Beidou can make efficient use of the new Pale Flame set
  • She synergizes well with Hu Tao for an Overload-focused team composition
  • Beidou works well as a DPS and Support character

Beidou has remained mostly the same in Patch 1.5, but the addition of the new artifact sets has opened up a few more build options for her, making her more versatile than ever before. While her previous builds remain perfectly viable up until this day, these new ones are still worth considering for players who want to change things up.

New content is always being added with every major update to “Genshin Impact,” and they almost always add more depth to the game. Here are some new fun ways to use Beidou with the game’s new characters and artifact sets.

Beidou Playstyle Overview

Beidou retains her defensive fighting style. She uses her Tidecaller’s full-counter to deal huge damage after perfectly blocking enemy hits while her Stormbreaker’s DMG reduction field lets her and her team stay on the offensive.

As a claymore user, Beidou innately deals high damage with her normal attacks, making her a good choice as a physical damage dealer. However, the nature of her kit makes her more suited as a mixed damage dealer, dishing out high physical damage with trace amounts of Electro damage.

Physical DMG Beidou Build

The Bloodstained Chivalry set is still the better option for Physical Beidou than the Pale Flame set because of how her Elemental Skill is used and how long the cooldown for it is. However, players who want to focus exclusively on dealing physical damage with Beidou will find Pale Flame to be a very consistent source of extra damage.

Beidou’s passive abilities and Elemental Burst synergize better with Bloodstained than Pale Flame. However, it might still be worth building two Bloodstained with two Pale Flame depending on artifact substats.

Thundersoother Support

The Thundersoother set lets Beidou buff her entire team’s damage output even while she’s off-field thanks to her Elemental Burst’s persistent effect. This makes her a decent choice for an Overload-centric composition with Hu Tao equipped with a Crimson Witch set.

Thundersoother is also good for physical damage Superconduct compositions with other carries like Razor as the constant Electro application means Thundersoother’s effect is always active.

Full-Counter Burst

Thundering Fury is a great set for a Full-Counter Beidou build due to the sheer amount of bonus Electro damage that the set can provide. This also synergizes well with the buffed Geo resonance effect that grants an additional 15% damage whenever a character is shielded.

A Pyro team can set up enemies for an Overload reaction and light grass on fire, which can make using Tidecaller much easier.
