  • MiHoYo is the gaming studio behind the successful game "Genshin Impact"
  • Last year it announced that it was working on the Switch port of the game
  • Fans are now wondering about the specific release date of "Genshin Impact" on Switch

"Genshin Impact" is one of the most successful ARPG titles launched in 2020. The game continues to attract attention from PC, PS4, iOS and Android gamers because of its anime-like character design and impressive gameplay features.

With the game's Switch port said to be in development, hybrid console gamers are interested to know about the game's release on Nintendo Switch.

In September, miHoYo's Communications Head Sam Lai said in an interview that the Nintendo Switch version of "Genshin Impact" was in the development stage. It seems that not much has changed since then. miHoYo is yet to announce the release date of the action RPG title.

Most often, "Genshin Impact" is being compared with the Switch-exclusive title "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild." But the miHoYo title has lots of unique ideas that are absent in "Breath of the Wild." Apart from its characters, the gameplay is more on hack and slash and it has a lot of cities and locations that players can explore and inhabit.

There were rumors claiming that the game's Nintendo Switch port might arrive in early 2021. But considering the absence of hints and announcements from the game developer, it looks like the hybrid console launch will happen in mid or late 2021. Developers are probably working on a feature that would allow PC or PS4 gamers to migrate their saved files to Switch.

The game developer also rolls out fresh content every six weeks to ensure that it delivers a new gaming experience to its players. Fans are anticipating the launch of the "All that Glitters" update, scheduled to be out on Feb. 3. The update features a new event called the Lantern Rite Festival and a new five-star character, Xiao.

The demon-slaying Yaksha is the featured character in the update's upcoming banner along with other unannounced four-star characters. The update is also expected to introduce Hu Tao in its late-stage but miHoYo hasn't confirmed this.

"Genshin Impact" is playable on PC, PlayStation 4, iOs and Android devices. The hit gacha title is currently in development for Nintendo Switch and PS5.
