  • It was released in September 2020
  • Fans are wondering if it would ever have raids

"Genshin Impact" is an action RPG title that evolves over time, thanks to the updates miHoYo rolls out on a regular basis. With new content and features coming every six weeks, fans are wondering if the Chinese gaming studio would ever introduce raids in the game.

Raids are an important part of the end game in massively multiplayer online games that offer players high-level challenging content designed for coop play. This game mechanic often provides players with experience to level up their character and premium in-game rewards that range from exclusive skins to top-of-the-line weapons and equipment. While miHoYo has not yet said anything about Raids in "Genshin Impact," some clues seemingly hint that the game is headed that way.

"Honkai Impact 3rd," the FTP action RPG mobile game that's also from miHoYo, has raids. This means that it's not impossible for the gaming studio to also introduce them in "Genshin Impact."

Gamerant's Austin Wood is pretty convinced that after a series of in-game events, the "game could deliver challenging, complex, and co-op-enabled challenges like the raids that many players are hoping for." According to him, miHoYo has been "doing wild stuff for months."

In the past few weeks, Woods says, the game has become a flexible base for a wide array of game modes. While he does not know what miHoYo has in mind with these game types and mechanics, he admits that he "can't help but feel that many of them would fit nicely in a raid-type encounter."

"Genshin Impact" challenges like the Rhodeia Rage and the Primo Geovishap are just some of the more difficult battles miHoYo has introduced over the past months. Wood believes that the hit gacha game "has steadily pushed bespoke mechanics more heavily, with unique objects, limitations, and hazards playing a bigger and bigger part."

"Genshin Impact" appears to be accelerating and as Wood notes, with each update, the game gets weirder and even more difficult encounters.

At first, it's hard to think that "Genshin Impact" would feature raids. However, considering its progress as well the updates that have been rolled out in the game, it would no longer be a surprise to one day see this gameplay mechanic announced for the title.

But for now, fans can look forward to Update 1.5, which is scheduled to arrive on April 28. It promises to bring new events, characters and weapons, among others.
