A Georgia man who allegedly tried to rob a business during the early hours of Christmas Day slipped on ice and hit his head on the ground while trying to flee, police said.

Luis Sajbocho-Ordonez, 30, is facing armed robbery and aggravated assault charges following the incident, which started at around 1 a.m. Sunday, the New York Post reported, citing the Gainesville Police Department.

Sajbocho-Ordonez was allegedly hiding behind a business in Gainesville, about 50 miles northeast of Atlanta, and pulled a gun on an employee who walked outside.

The employee got into a physical fight with Sajbocho-Ordonez, who allegedly fired a shot after another worker exited the building and spooked him.

Sajbocho-Ordonez allegedly tried to flee the scene but failed to do so as he slipped on a frozen patch and hit his head on the ground.

Witnesses were able to take two guns away from him until police arrived and took Sajbocho-Ordonez into custody.

No one was injured by the gunfire.

"Fortunately, no serious injuries occurred and the perp went to jail," the Gainesville Police Department said.

Gainesville Police released more details on their Facebook page, describing the incident "like a scene from 'Home Alone.'" His injuries are being compared to Marv, a character in the 1990 classic movie who slipped on ice while trying to break into the McCallisters' house during Christmas.

Sajbocho-Ordonez was treated on the scene by EMS.

Sajbocho-Ordonez was then transported to the Hall County Jail and charged with armed robbery and aggravated assault. According to police, additional charges may be added later.

Earlier this month, an 18-year-old Tennessee woman was arrested and charged with a robbery attempt that resulted in the death of her boyfriend, police said.

On Dec. 20, police responded to a shooting call in Memphis' Westwood neighborhood, where they found a man lying on the ground outside, unresponsive.

The 21-year-old victim was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. He was later pronounced dead, police said.

According to witnesses, they saw a woman picking up items in the area of the crime scene before police arrived. During the investigation, police found that the woman in question was the victim's girlfriend, identified as Kerryoni Brown, WECT reported.

Brown allegedly admitted to police that his boyfriend's death was the result of their failed robbery attempt on a drug dealer. She reportedly told police that she allowed her boyfriend to use her Facebook profile to lure the dealer into the area for an "honest drug deal."

The two parties met in the area as discussed, police said. However, when her boyfriend allegedly pulled out his gun, someone inside the dealer's car fired multiple shots at him.

Brown reportedly took her boyfriend's two weapons after he was shot and fled the scene before officers arrived.

She was charged with reckless homicide, aggravated robbery and tampering with/or fabricating evidence.
